Privacy Notice

Last updated 7 June 2026

The short version: Fader collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no tracking, and no cloud. Everything Fader does — adjusting per-app volume and routing audio between output devices — happens entirely on your Mac.

What Fader does not collect

Fader does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no analytics SDK, no advertising, no telemetry, and no remote servers of its own. We do not know who you are or that you are using Fader.

Your audio

Fader reads and adjusts the volume levels of running apps and routes them to the output device you choose, using macOS audio APIs. It does not record, store, stream, or upload any audio. Audio never leaves your Mac.

What stays on your Mac

This data is yours. It is not synced anywhere and is removed when you delete the app and its data.

Purchases

The one-time Pro purchase and the free trial are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes the payment; Fader only receives whether you are entitled to Pro. Payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us.

System permissions

Fader asks for one macOS permission, used only on your device:

Children

Fader is a utility not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this notice changes, the updated date above will change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
